Creating a Data Folder

Data folders store the expanded contents of your FormTrap load (.ASC) file, created in FTDesign. These contents include the form(s) definitions and all data related to font and printer handling. FormTrap uses the contents of your data folder(s) to perform all formatting processes.

To create a new data folder:

  • Choose New Data Folder from Data menu.
  • The New Data Folder dialog will appear. Enter a name for your data folder in the Folder Name text box, for example: FormTrap.
  • Click Browse to locate your load (.ASC) file, or enter the full path and file name in the Load file textbox.

  • Click OK to create the data folder.

  • A corresponding folder will be created in the file system underneath the FTDataRoot folder. Queues will be able to reference this folder when you define queue settings.
