Manage the Data Folders

Data folders store the rule files as well as expanded contents of your FormTrap load (.ASC) file, created in FTDesign. These contents include the form(s) definitions and all data related to font and printer handling. FormTrap uses the contents of your data folder(s) to perform all formatting processes.

Create a Data Folder

To create a new data folder:
  • Choose New Folder from the Data menu.
  • The Data folder page will appear. Enter a name for your data folder in the New data folder text box, for example: FormTrap.

  • The dialog box pops up to allow you to locate your load (.ASC) file.

  • Choose the load (.ASC) file you wish to add and click Open to finish the reloading process. Forms within the load (.ASC) file will be added to the data folder.

  • A corresponding folder will be created in the file system. Queues will be able to reference this folder when you define queue settings.
