Data Designer List of Records, Areas and Fields
Left of screen is a list of the records, areas, fields and rules or this Document. Structured items show Document, Records, Areas, Fields and Rules. The toolbar contains icons as shown.
The Select item icon 
selects the
highlighted item in the main view, so if the highlighted item is a
field, you will see the field highlighted, if the highlighted item
is a group, you will see the group, etc. This may mean the selected
area is no longer visible and you may need to move the Source File
screen through pages and then use the Source File slider to see the
selected entry.
Similarly, the Properties 
and
Delete 
icons apply to the
selected item.
