This was authorized by John Hall, Comvita New Zealand Limited, in March 2009 

Comvita NZ limited are implementing an additional QAD domain in Hong Kong to provide local facilities for their business systems.  Comvita Hong Kong uses a 3rd Party Warehouse to manage their inventory and required a facility to provide the QAD Sales Order Pick List to them at an item, lot/serial level.  Comvita have had Formtrap installed for 2 years and use it for all formatted documents throughout the business, but had not required until now an electronic output. 

Initially Comvita had thought they would have to send the paper document to the 3rd party for them to re-key into their system, but they looked at the Formtrap website to see if there was anything available that might help.  Using the Knowledge base, a document was found that described a csv output, the knowledge base had a single page of setup with screen shots which was easily followed and with the assistance of staff via a WebEx session from Formtrap Australia to confirm a couple of syntax points the csv output was designed and successfully output to a network file that can be sent to the 3rd party, with no additional coding requirements or changes to the standard Pick List output, this facility will now provide a printed document for the Hong Kong business and a csv file for the 3rd party. 

This facility has provided Comvita with an easy to use output directly from QAD which can be utilised by an external supplier, they are now considering the use of this in other areas of the business.
